Curriculum :: MathematicsThe programme of study follows the National Framework at Key Stage 3. The following topics are covered, Numbers, Algebra, Shapes, Space for Measures and Data Handling. The concept of the framework is that pupils are given the opportunity to study these topics each year, developing their understanding as they progress from Year 7 to Year 9 preparing them for the GCSE course. When pupils reach Year 10 they embark upon a two year period of study at GCSE level. The pupils are required to produce two pieces of coursework, one related to Number and Algebra and the other to Data Handling. The aim at Lord's is to allow all pupils the opportunity to realise their full mathematical potential. The pupils are encouraged to develop a positive, responsible attitude towards learning. If pupils demonstrate a confident, motivated approach t learning mathematics then the main aim has been realised.
