Law is a choice subject and can be chosen in Year 10 and taken through to Year 11 to take GCSE examinations

The subject should enable the following to be achieved:

An understanding of law as a body of rules, which change in response to societies changing needs and European influences.

The development of a critical interest in legal matter

An understanding of law as a body of rules affecting the interdependence of individuals, groups and institutions within society in Britain, and within a European contract

The ability to acquire, select and handle information, to analyse critically its nature and source and to base judgements and arguments on evidence

Opportunities for candidates to acquire knowledge and develop skills, which enhance their ability to play an infirmed role within the community.
