How to understand the differing types of index for each type of map and how to follow grid lines.

Compass skills.- All directional skills necessary to use a compass and an understanding of how and why a compass works.

The Local Area. - How Bolton grew into the town that it is today.

Why the early settlement decided to stay in the area.
