A levels at Lord's
Small classes
We believe that small classes and high quality teaching are the
key to success. This approach is very personal and means that students are focused
on their studies and are given lots of attention from teachers to maximise attainment and fulfil
potential. On average classes are five or six students.. Alongside small class sizes we foster a
friendly environment by having a no uniform policy and creating relationships where everyone is on
friendly terms.
Small class sizes mean teachers can spend more time assessing each student's work and giving feedback on a one to one basis. This in turn builds confidence and raises standards.
Two year A Level programme
The majority of our students are taking three or four A Levels on a two year programme of AS and A2. We offer a wide range of A Level subjects. Entry is dependent on satisfactory GCSE Grades, including Maths and English, usually including a range of A* to C grades together with a good reference from the previous school.
Students may be accepted without these grades but would be expected to re-sit GCSE examinations with the college to obtain the necessary grades alongside their A level studies. Students without the necessary grades are welcome to apply when a program of study would be discussed at interview. No student who is prepared to put the required effort into their studies would be refused at Lord's as we firmly believe every child matters.
